House Hunt

Russ and I had been looking online for several weeks at rentals.  We had some we wanted to see and were hoping they would still be available.  We were lucky to be able to view a few the day we arrived.  We spent all day Wednesday looking at houses.  The poor kids! They did very well though considering they had just spent 4 days in a car!

By the end of Wednesday we had some favorites but still wanted to see a few Thursday before we made a decision.  While waiting for our appointment with another realtor we decided to check out Redstone Arsenal and see what they could provide.

When we found the housing office they were in the process of moving to another facility! They told us that there is normally a wait list for housing for retirees and they didn't think any would be available for 6 months. We went to an alternate housing office and the lady informed us that she didn't think she had any until end of next month.  She said hold on let me check and then "oh wait, look here is one ready today." God is so good!

We went to check it out and all of us loved it!  We were thankful God provided this house on base because it meant saving us the $1000 deposit and the the $300 utilities hook up fee.  What a wonderful blessing!

So Thursday afternoon we moved into our new house. A lovely one story redbrick house.  We have 3 bedrooms and tons of storage closets.  The children are especially excited about the big grass backyard.

The next adventure begins on Tuesday, July 31st when our household goods get delivered!
